Mick Foulds

 

Mick was born in 1952 in London. He joined the Territorial Army in 1976 serving with the Royal Corps of Transport and subsequently the Royal Engineers until 1983 in the United Kingdom, Germany, Cyprus and Denmark, attaining the rank of Corporal.

During this time he had various jobs before becoming a scaffolder. In 1995 joined the railways as a Rolling Stock Technician and worked in this capacity until losing both his legs below the knee in an industrial accident in 2007. Following this he retired for medical reasons.

His hobbies and past times ensure that he remains busy, owning two riding horses and competing in Western Riding competitions and Polocrosse. He also rides an adaptive Triumph motorcyle, and has previously completed a Lands End to John O'Groats ride with BLESMA in 2009. Also, with the help of BLESMA, he has participated in Ski Bobbing, Scuba Diving, Sailing, Microlighting and have also returned to playing Golf.
